Wasp Nest Removal — Waupaca Deck

Inspection

A family on the Waupaca Chain O' Lakes couldn't use their back deck because paper wasps had built a large nest under the railing. With kids and pets nearby, this was a stinging risk that needed immediate wasp nest removal.

What We Found

• An active paper wasp nest about the size of a softball under the deck railing
• A second smaller starter nest beginning under the eaves
• Heavy wasp traffic across the deck and patio area

Treatment

We treated the nest at dusk when the wasps were all back and less aggressive, removed the nest entirely, and treated the attachment points so the wasps would not rebuild in the same spot. The smaller starter nest was knocked down and treated as well.

Follow-Up

The family was back on the deck the next evening with zero wasp activity. We advised sealing gaps under the railing and eaves to discourage future wasp nesting — a common late-summer call across Waupaca.
